You have a PCI-E 16x slot, so any PCI-E card will work. What are you using it for? Mainstream? Gaming? Graphics?
And stick with nvidia unless you are looking to get the fastest card avaliable. I believe that title currently belongs to ATI, but it changes every few months.
Please don’t get a 9×00 series. Nvidia does their cards in an odd way. Any odd-numbered series sucks, and vice versa for any even-numbered series. This holds true from the 4×00 to the 9×00. The only minor exception is the 7×00, which weren’t entirely horrible.

What do you want to use it for?
I recommend the GeForce 8800 GTS for most purposes:

Even if you don’t do gaming, it’s still a great card.

well. you can install any PCI-Ex16 card on it. with you power supply at 450W, i would recommend either a lower end of Geforce 9 series, like 9600GT max(?) or you can go with an 8800GT or GTS
personally, i like NVIDIA better, because there are more companies you can choose from, like XFX, BFG, eVGA.
if you get a card, i recommend you buy it from XFX or eVGA as they are the best manufactures and even OC the clocks for you, so you dont have to risk it.
my specs:
Q6600
Asus P5k-e mobo
2gig dominator
XFX 7600GT

See what your motherboard has,AGP or PCI-E slot,Go for nVidia or ATI but a decent card with which you actually see a performance boost over your Integrated graphics.

Your choice, as long as the graphics card meets the MoBo’s PCI Express x16 graphics interface requirement.
