Where is the serial number of a mobile/manufactured home that was made in the 1970’s or early eighties?
Manufactured Homes July 5th, 2009I have no idea where to look for a serial number to an older model mobile home. I need to register it for tax purposes. Could there be a web site I could search for the model I have. It is a Redman-Fleetwood Mobile home. Please Help.

If you have the title the serial number will be on the title.
Otherwise, there was (at the time of manufacture) a large (perhaps 8.5" X 11") sticker posted inside the mobile that would have all of the information about the mobile home including date of manufacture and serial number. That sticker would have been placed in the utility room on the inside of a cabinet door, inside the door of the furnace compartment, or on the inside of the water heater compartment door. It could also be near the power panel.
If you cannot find the information label in any of these places go to your county records department to begin a search by address or owner. There is no website that will help you find the information (unless you can access your local county records on line.) Good luck!

The serial number will be on any title to the home, on the data plate, and usually written in some form on the steel frame.
Ive most often found the data plate on the inside of a cabinet door, usually the kitchen cabinets, over or under the sink.
On the steel frame, the numbers are normally written up front, near the hitch end, on the hitch, or the opposite end of the home, on the very last cross member. The number could be simply chalked on, painted on, stamped, or ‘written’ with a welder. Some communities require a mobile home ‘tag’, which is riveted to the siding, where it can easily be found.

The wrangler is correct on the location..That model mobile home will have a sticker, usually on a cuppord or utility closet door giving its rating..weather/load/insulation value/model number etcetra on it..also as he mentioned..the tounge of the mobile home sometimes has this..I used to actually work for Fleetwood in Sulpher springs ,texas before..and we put these stickers on the blower fan unit in the hallway..on the doors…
