a modular home has been brought to the lot site and its sections ( up to twelve) put together on site. It gains value ( not as much as a brick home) and it appreciates. it cannot be relocated without great cost.
a double wide has two sides that are placed together on site. it losses value and it depreciates. it can be relocated with minimal cost.

Not much difference.

Modular home = manufactured home = mobile home = trailer
A double-wide is when two trailers are stuck together side by side. This doubles the living space and makes it look more like a regular house.

modular home is generally placed on a foundation and a doublewide does not need to be on a permanent foundation

Modular is brought to the site in pieces, and then built at the site. A double wide is a home where it is already pre-built and it is just settled on the foundation.

big difference! Modular is built like a reg home but not on site. It is later moved to your site of choice. Double wides are cheap and do not appreciate. Its basically like buying a car when you buy a single or double wide. DOnt do it
