What’s the best way to get out of a mobile home and into an apartment?
Manufactured Homes June 19th, 2009Hi. Just last August I purchased a used mobile home. It's in a nice park. I'm not too satisfied with my choice of housing. I would rather rent an apartment as opposed to own a mobile home. I've lived here 9 months. I only took it out for 5 years. I don't know if I could get what I owe or not.

I understand; it's not the best time to try to sell a mobile home right now… Could you possibly swing the payment AND a monthly rent payment? You could always rent the mobile home to someone, and defray your costs that way.
You could also look at the "room-mates wanted" sections of your local papers and Craiglist — that's usually less expensive, as well.
If you were looking to rent in the Cleveland or Phoenix areas, I would rent you one of my properties!!

Upgrade to an RV first. Baby steps.

Probably not. You would probably do better becoming a landlord an
renting it under a "lease to own" contract.
My situation is similar. I bought a mobile home in a rush to find a place to live. Renting an apartment was going to cost more, so it was a good choice at the time.
But after 5 years, I wanted to move out and it's not possible to find a buyer first in this market and second because mobile homes depreciate in value as opposed to brick and mortar homes. I now live in a brick house and have been renting my mobile home for over 3 years now even though it's been listed for sale, and every month I lower the asking price to the balance of my loan.

Where is the mobile home located? How many bedrooms and bathrooms? What's your asking price? What's the lot rent?
You should pray for direction. Then, if led to, get rid of the mobile and move or vice versa.
