We live in a mobile home park and they charge everyone the same for the water bill.?
Manufactured Homes July 4th, 2010They charge everyone the same whether there is 1 person in a home or a family of 6. Obviously the 6 people would use way more than 1 person but everyone pays the same. They put in new meters but they don’t read the meters, there isn’t any meter reading on the bill at all. The water bill comes from the mobile home park and not from the water department. Is this legal to do this.

The mobile home park has one account with the water department, usually. They charge you, the tenants, as a private party, then use the money you pay them to pay the water department. They divide their bill up so everyone in the park pays the same thing. As far as I know, yes, it is legal for them to do this.

No its not illegal. Apartment complexes do the same exact thing. I have been billed as much as $56 for water, and like your said, ppl with a dozen people in their apt that are probably using twice as much as that, pay the same which isnt fair but there isnt a thing you can do about it. When you signed your lease you agreed to being billed for the water, sewer etc.
