How do you use a fireplace that's in a mobile home without burning the house down?

Who is responsible to fix the main water valve under my mobile home in NY?

Who is responsible to fix the main water valve under my mobile home? I am in NY and the valve is basically underground. The pipes then come above ground and go to my mobile home. It is the only shut off under my home and it is leaking and actually under water. I believe it is the parks responsibility to fix it since it is underground, but would like any info anyone may have. Thanks in advance for the help.

How do I get rid of an old mobile home?

My parents have retired and moved and now we have to find someone to take their old mobile home to either salvage or refurbish(and no, a box of matched has been suggested by my fiance already, is not possible). I have tried looking all over the internet for suggestions and each has been a dead end. We dont want any $$, we just want it off our hands.We live in South Denton Tx. Thanks in advance.

Cost of getting a modular home up and running?

Me and my husband are looking at buying a modular home. We are wanting to mortgage whatever we buy and we want to include the cost of hooking up utilities, drilling a well, placing a septic, etc. into the mortgage amount. We own the land and let’s speculate we own the house also. We live on the East Coast in Virginia if that would help with the estimate and the home site would be easily accessible by the road.
Here are the questions that we cannot find answers to on the web and were hoping that you might be able to answer some or all of them! Thanks in advance!

1. What is the minimum amount we should expect to pay to have the land perked?
2. When buying a modular home does the advertised price include transportation and setup at the home site?
3. Will we have to pour our own basement? What is a typical Cost?
4. What is the typical cost of drilling a well and septic?
5.What is the typical cost of getting power connected?
6. Are there extra transport costs associated with buying a modular from a site more than 50 miles away?

Has anyone purchased a modular home? (Serious only, please!)?

I just recently started looking at a few modular homes…I’m just wondering what the catch is? They look VERY nice and are decently priced. I think they probably aren’t as sturdy as a normal everyday house, and there’s the headache of having to build your own basement, but what else? Have you purchased one? Do you know any facts (good or bad) that you’d like to share? Thanks in advance!
