Me and my fiance are looking at a mobile home for 12,900 I’m 19 and he’s 22 we both have jobs but don’t really have credit. But one of our parents will prolly sign on with us for a mortgage will we get it ?

I am trying to sell a trailor and the park owner has a history of turning down minorities. She turned down my buyers because they had too many kids and it is illegal for five kids and two parents to live in a 3 bedroom mobile home. Is this correct or is she just using it as an excuse?

I’m ready to move out of my parents house, and I got money saved but I’m not sure if I want to buy a mobile home or rent an apartment. What are the pros and cons of both? I’m a single mom and I’m thinking the little lot with the mobile home at least my kid can play outside, on the other hand dont houses need more maintenance? Thanks.
I never really thought about Condos…. am I responsible for maintenance on a condo or no?

My sister died in 2002. She left her mobile home to her son who is unable to maintain it. He is now 22 years old, no parents, unemployed. His family is trying to help him with decisions. My parents have given me their mobile home- we wrote up a paper stating that it is now mine and both parties signed it, but I don’t know if this will hold up if I try to sell it, etc. The trailer is an ‘89, before they came with titles.

We live in San Jose, California. My parents bought a mobile home over 10 years ago, and they paid it off in cash. Now, my parents want to transfer the title of the mobile home to me (I’m 22 and work full time). Can someone please let me know the process I have to go through to get the mobile home title transfer over to my name, without much tax consequences and paperwork? My family was looking into buying a nice mobile home. It has a metal roof, is that bad like when its lightning or raining? whats good about a metal roof?
Also it has a tree in the front … do you think that’ll be a problem in like a thunderstorm?

Also it has propane to heat it… how much is propane, because my parents said its alot. Is there any way to install natural gas?

My parents have retired and moved and now we have to find someone to take their old mobile home to either salvage or refurbish(and no, a box of matched has been suggested by my fiance already, is not possible). My husband and I have been looking for a house in our area to buy for the past 3-4 months and haven’t found anything worth while. and fankly i’m getting impatient. we are currently living with his parents with our 15 month old son (he recently broke his leg and was off work for 6months–so we had no source of income to stay on our own) We are both ready to get back out on our own. there was a small trailor came up for sale in our area… and i thought about buying the trailor, tearing it down, and replacing it with a nice modular home… does anybody know about what it would cost since all of the utilities are already in place??

My parents just sold their house and are trying to retire. They want something a bit smaller and I was trying to show them some nicer quality modulars that they can put 0- 0k into.

The only thing is that all they know about modulars is that they are junky poorly made doublewides. I've tried to show them websites and pictures, but the one's they've looked at in their small town of Clarion, Pa are still the crappy cheaper ones. They are totally turned off and everyone is telling them that they ARE bad and to stay away from them.

I need hard proof to counter all their friend's point of views. Anyone know of articles or shows that have covered modular homes that are credible. Anybody like CNN (they watch it religiously and would probably listen to them).

Please help!!! They are rushing and are looking at crappy 1970's houses for 0k! Its driving me crazy!!!!
So it looks like modulars are basically stick built houses and manufactured housing are the lower grade doublewide style houses (our home inspector below has informed us).

Based on this. What do you think? Is the misconception between modulars and manufactured homes what is scaring people away?
