Im looking to invest some money in property and see where that takes me. I’ve recently heard about these modular homes and they seem extremely nice. Im looking to see how much a modern, nice, 4 bedroom modular home would go for.

My sister makes good money and so does her husband. She just has bad credit. They both lost their jobs two years ago and got really behind on bills along with a new baby. They now both have really good jobs but they have bad marks on their credit. Does anyone know of a mortgage company that can help them get into a new mobile home?

that you still owe money on? husband and I need to move now. mobile home-bought for 35k-owe 23k still on it. owe 16k on land. I know the renters cannot destroy the land BUT they can the house.
Is this a crazy idea to rent it out for 900 a month?(300 a room) plus bills?

Im a single mother and im currently living at home with my mom because I cant afford the real estate or rentals in my town. My aunt offered me a nice deal, she has a really nice little mobile home and she is asking me for ,000. I want to be able to get a loan with little or no money down but if neccessary i can put %10 down. I have perfect credit so it shouldnt be a problem getting a loan but my banks here in town dont want to finance mobile homes. What should I do?

Is there a way I can find out when the lease ends or expires on the property that is the mobile home park where I live. The property management company has been rent gouging us for several years now and we’re curious if they’re just trying to get all the money out of us before they lose their lease.

I’m getting a divorce and eventually moving out, and I don’t really want to throw money away on rent. I’m thinking of buying a mobile home (because they’re inexpensive) but was wondering if I can get a full 30-year mortgage on one, so I can keep my payments as low as possible? (And no mobile home jokes, ok??)

Me and my boyfriend bought a brand new mobile home a couple of years ago. Figured it was the same as paying rent out where we live and at least I will be able to get some of my money back when we move out. But of course like most mobile homes it came with boring walls. Is there a special brand of paint or trick I can use to cover or paint the walls.
These are interior walls I’m talking about and they are just like normal walls for the most part but are of course a lot thinner.

I’m ready to move out of my parents house, and I got money saved but I’m not sure if I want to buy a mobile home or rent an apartment. What are the pros and cons of both? I’m a single mom and I’m thinking the little lot with the mobile home at least my kid can play outside, on the other hand dont houses need more maintenance? Thanks.
I never really thought about Condos…. am I responsible for maintenance on a condo or no?

We mailed our home buyer credit return the last week of january. It says online that April 6th is when it is supposed to be in my account. Why does it take that long? Is it the home buyer credit, or because it was a mobile home? I’m so confused, but I am ready for my money!

The tub in my mobile home has a large crack that we have fixed several times. I am ready to buy a new tub and have saved up some money. I don’t know who to call to install it and I don’t know where to buy one. I need a tub that is higher quality because I don’t want to have this happen again. Thanks!

I’m thinking of going from renting a single family home to buying a mobile home (double wide) Do others find they save money on gas/elec? Or since it’s not made as well they spend more on the heating since it just leaks out? Are there any other costs involved with a trailer that are not made immediately known?
Best answer goes to whoever gives the most in-depth detail.

My adult daughter lives in a mobile home I own. In February of 2006, she let a friend come live with her. This is not a romantic relationship. He was being evicted from his apartment with no money and no job, and my daughter felt sorry for him. The guy has only worked about two months the whole time he has been living in my mobile home. He pays no rent or utilities. I have no rental agreement with him. He is an ungrateful wretch. Both my daughter and I want him gone. Any suggestions?

I have made the decision to save my money and eventually buy my own mobile home instead of renting. What price range should I shoot for when shopping for a mobile home? Are there any good websites out there?
Thanks

just wondering if anyone has owned, knows soemone who owns or has heard anything about these modular homes..
my husband and i are thinking about building one on our land, but have heard some people say "those are great, get one!" and then others who say "Those are terrible! DO NOT waste your money"….. since the modular home website reviews all say their great (of course)….i want to hear from people who have expeirnced living in them, or even ever have been in one..
and how much do those things usually cost to build?….i know it depends what i want and such, but i mean is there a minimum price they start you out on?…
any insights on this would greatly be helpful!

I’m looking at options for buying or building a home. One option is to buy some land and put a modular (prefab) home on it. None of the websites I’ve looked at give prices. They all want you to leave a number or email address for a quote. I just want to know, generally, what kind of money I am looking at spending for a 1500-2000 sq ft modular home with 3 bedroom.

I’ve found the perfect property in central Florida. It’s right next door to my best friend. It’s an acre of land with an older single-wide mobile home on it. It’s the only home I can afford without being an absolute shack on no property. I love this because I’d be spending my money mostly investing in the property, and I could build my dream home on it later.
The problem is, I have no down payment. I was told there are programs out there that help with that. I was approved by my bank for the mortgage, so I have good credit. However, every government program I could find will not help with the purchase of a mobile home; not SHIP, not First Time Homebuyers, not Fannie Mae, not HOME, etc.
Does anyone have any ideas???

We own 1.1 acres of land and have and older mobile home on this land now. The single wide mobile home is in good shape. But with three kids we need more room. I want your opinions on if purchasing a new one would be I good ideal. Not a lot of money to buy a new house plus we already own the land. We live in Georgia.

I live in a very expensive city (San Diego). I plan on being here for a while longer but don’t want to piss money away on rent anymore.
The only thing I can afford to buy out here is a manufactured home because a decent 500sq ft. condo or townhouse out here won’t go for less than 5K (yes I said 500 sq ft ridiculous, I know) and of course if I’m paying a mortgage, I want more room.
I grew up in the suburbs and know nothing about this.
Any info would be helpful.

I live in a single-wide mobile home in zone 4, where it gets very cold, and the heating system for my home uses propane gas, which gets very expensive to run in the cold winter months, sometimes as high as 5.00 per month! Does anyone know about those electric machines that you put in your living room that heats up the whole house ( I don't mean "space heaters") that are safe, and do they cost a lot less money to run? I have already had my home weatherized, underneath it and the windows and doors, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

An older mobile home already has site work, utility and sewer hook-ups, but may need major updating. A new trailer does not need fixing, but the land needs to be purchased, site work needs to be done and utilities need to be hooked up. Really not interested in leasing the land or the mobile home. Looking to do this the most economical and cheapest way possible, money is very tight, and the mobile homes seem very affordable.
