I’m considering buying a property with a mobile home that isn’t on a permanent foundation. I’d like it to be on a foundation so that it’ll remain intact in severe weather. Can someone please give me a rough figure on how much that will cost? I don’t know the exact size of the home, so a ballpark range would be great. Are we talking k? k? I’m thinking a slab would be the cheapest kind.
Also, what kind of companies/contractors do this kind of job?

I have never installed a hot water heater before, I need a new one for our double wide mobile home. Is this too difficult of a job for a first timer? Or is there somewhere that I can find easy to install instr.?

The house is in a park, not on private land. It’s a big one, 2400 sq.ft. I am current with the payments, but my job is making me move 500 miles away, I won’t be able to make payments on 2 homes. Is it better that they repossess it or foreclose? It’s for sale but the market doesn’t look good, homes have been for sale there for over 4-5 yrs. Renting is out of the question, I can’t afford the insurance they charge for a rental modular, and I don’t want it destroyed by the kind of tennants it would draw.

Ok we are going to be adding on a room to my grandmothers mobile home. The room will be where there is already a screened in porch. So the foundation is already there. The room will not be completely enclosed. We only want to have two walls (insulated) for now. No electricity is needed. The third wall will be her mobile home and the forth is her laundry room. How much do you think this would cost as a "Do It Yourself " project? Also, if there are any professional carpenters out there, how much would you charge for this type of job? If no one knows the answer to any of the questions, perhaps you have added a room on to your home in the past. How much did it cost you? Thanks
Here are the outside measurements:
long wall height: 8 feet
long wall width: 152 inches = 12.6 feet
smaller wall width: 131 inches = 10.91 feet (including where door will be, there is a storm door right now)
smaller wall height: 105 inches = 8.75 feet

We bought a single wide mobile home and have to do some work to it. The ceiling needs to be replaced. The roof has already been fixed. I was wondering if anyone knows roughly how much this will cost for a DIY job. Obviously tearing it down will cost little to nothing but how much are we looking at for everything else??

My adult daughter lives in a mobile home I own. In February of 2006, she let a friend come live with her. This is not a romantic relationship. He was being evicted from his apartment with no money and no job, and my daughter felt sorry for him. The guy has only worked about two months the whole time he has been living in my mobile home. He pays no rent or utilities. I have no rental agreement with him. He is an ungrateful wretch. Both my daughter and I want him gone. Any suggestions?

What products are best for repairing leaks around the edge of a mobile home, and to coat the top as well? Apparently there is a small leak that travels down the wall. This was only noticed because of the water stain at the base of the wall after removing the carpet. There is also a small leak in the middle of the bedroom ceiling which is also in need of a product that will do the job.
