I’m looking to purchase 1.5 wooded acres with other homes near by.
How much do "double wides" or manufactured home cost for 3 bedrooms, nothing fancy.
How much to set up septic tank, well water, electricity from the road, and propane gas (and everything else needed)?
Thanks in advance!!
Oh… live in michigan.

My husband and I are exploring our house oppotunities since we kinda have a low budget. We have found manufactured homes for about ,000 but obviously you have to buy land and then the sewer, well, and whatnot. If the house is ,000 and we find land for ,000…how much more will it cost to connect water, sewer, and electricity to the house? Any estimates or have you done this?

We live in a mobile home park in Southern California and our electricity seems very high here. Even if we don’t run the A/C it runs about 0/month. The kilowatt hours for last month were 1306 and the total was 3.24. Does this seem high? Also on our bill it seems like we are billed for Edison and also from the park even though we get one bill from the park.

DEpreciates? My husband and I were just discussing this and realized that it doesn’t make much sense. The wood in a house gets old, the electricity gets old, and after a while a house that catches fire will burn in a heartbeat just like a mobile home..
So.. I don’t get it. Why does a house go UP and a mobile home go DOWN?

I live in a house and have more land behind the house. This house has been here for 30 years. I want to put a mobile/ manufactured home behind my current home. Is there already electricity & water – useable or will I ahve to arrange to have these put on the land again? Also what about the septic tank?

Ok we are going to be adding on a room to my grandmothers mobile home. The room will be where there is already a screened in porch. So the foundation is already there. The room will not be completely enclosed. We only want to have two walls (insulated) for now. No electricity is needed. The third wall will be her mobile home and the forth is her laundry room. How much do you think this would cost as a "Do It Yourself " project? Also, if there are any professional carpenters out there, how much would you charge for this type of job? If no one knows the answer to any of the questions, perhaps you have added a room on to your home in the past. How much did it cost you? Thanks
Here are the outside measurements:
long wall height: 8 feet
long wall width: 152 inches = 12.6 feet
smaller wall width: 131 inches = 10.91 feet (including where door will be, there is a storm door right now)
smaller wall height: 105 inches = 8.75 feet

Can you put a Rental mobile home on a lot without a permit in Unincorporated Harris County? It is a rental mobile home that a tenant wants to put on our lot..
They want to store it there without electricity and without anyone living there until we (the property owners) get the permit.. Since they do not want to pay rent where they currently live..

If I purchased land that had absolutely no connections like electricity, sewage, etc. and wanted to put a modular home on it, how much would you estimate it should cost to get all those things hooked up? Well dug, electricity run, septic system, plumbing, etc.
That’s a genius idea. How much do you think it would cost to buy a beat up old house (k) demolish it, drop the modular on it’s foundation and then hook everything up?
Thanks for your help.

My husband and I are looking to buy our own home. I am very interested in modular homes (there are lots of nice ones that I have looked at). We threw around the idea of buying land and putting in our own, but there are so many hidden costs, like drilling a well, hooking up electricity, plumbing, water….all of that stuff. So then I thought about buying a mobile home that recently come up for sale in our area, tearing it down, and replacing it with a nice modular. What kind of hidden costs would we get into there? Does anybody have any idea what it would cost?
