Do you need a downpayment for a mobile home?

Posted by Modular Homes on February 3rd, 2011

We currently own a commercial property with a shop (my husband uses for his business) and two apartments. We use one apartment we rent the second for 0.00 mth. We would like to purchase a mobile home because they are inexpensive but we are getting to old to go up and down the stairs of the apartment. We do not have the downpayment. The mortgage is with a personal company and is interest only payments, we will never pay it off, but plan to sell it, although we anticipate it will take a long time to sell because of location and economy.

Would you buy a modular home?

Posted by Modular Homes on October 29th, 2010

I’m in the market for a house. I’ve rented since I moved out of my parents, but the fiance and I are ready to move out of the apartment.

Has anyone purchased a modular home? If you did, why? If not, why not? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I gave my Mobile Home to my son. Can I claim that on my taxes for a exemption?

Posted by Modular Homes on August 2nd, 2010

At my age I wanted to make sure that everything was taken care of prior to my death so I gave one of my sons my Mobile Home and moved into an apartment. Is it possible for me to receive credit for giving the mobile home away rather then selling it?

Is it better to own a mobile home or Apartment?

Posted by Modular Homes on May 3rd, 2010

I’m ready to move out of my parents house, and I got money saved but I’m not sure if I want to buy a mobile home or rent an apartment. What are the pros and cons of both? I’m a single mom and I’m thinking the little lot with the mobile home at least my kid can play outside, on the other hand dont houses need more maintenance? Thanks.
I never really thought about Condos…. am I responsible for maintenance on a condo or no?

What all goes into buying a mobile home as far as costs?

Posted by Modular Homes on March 2nd, 2010

My friend and I are considering moving into a mobile home instead of an apartment next year. The initial cost of buying and owning the home will be 00 and the lot rent will be 8 a month. Beyond paying that initial amount to own the home and our rent+utilities, what other costs might we run into in buying the home? Do mobile homes have mortgage rates if you own the home? I dont know much about this at all and I’m looking for as much help as I can get!

Bad credit real estate questions?

Posted by Modular Homes on November 28th, 2009

My husband and myself have bad credit. We recently bought 20 acres on owner contract and would like to eventually put a house on it. We thought we could save the cash and build a log home but after helping my dad build his log house we are deciding we would probably rather just buy a triple wide modular or such. We also have not been so successful yet at saving (we built a huge shop with an apartment). Now we think we would like to somehow finance a triple or such. What kind of options do we have. Any advisors out there have any advice for a starting point. Thanks.

How can I get people to vacate a mobile home I own in Ohio?

Posted by Modular Homes on November 15th, 2009

My adult daughter lives in a mobile home I own. In February of 2006, she let a friend come live with her. This is not a romantic relationship. He was being evicted from his apartment with no money and no job, and my daughter felt sorry for him. The guy has only worked about two months the whole time he has been living in my mobile home. He pays no rent or utilities. I have no rental agreement with him. He is an ungrateful wretch. Both my daughter and I want him gone. Any suggestions?

What’s the best way to get out of a mobile home and into an apartment?

Posted by Modular Homes on June 19th, 2009

Hi. Just last August I purchased a used mobile home. It's in a nice park. I'm not too satisfied with my choice of housing. I would rather rent an apartment as opposed to own a mobile home. I've lived here 9 months. I only took it out for 5 years. I don't know if I could get what I owe or not.
