How to repair hole in wall of 2007 mobile home?

Posted by Modular Homes on January 20th, 2011

My mom bought me a house, which I am currently renting from her. Anyways me & my boyfriend got into an argument & he punched a huge hole in the wall! I have always lived in houses, so I am unsure how to fix this hole! It’s about the size of a fist. The year of the mobile home is 2007, so it’s fairly new. It’s got the paneling? I think that’s what they call it.. my question, how do I fix it? Helpp!

Can you take walls down in a modular home?

Posted by Modular Homes on November 16th, 2010

I was wondering if you could take down walls in a modular home. I’m wanting to make my bedroom bigger by taking the walls between my room & another down. But I wasn’t sure if you could renovate.

Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on how much it costs to move a mobile home?

Posted by Modular Homes on July 2nd, 2010

I’m going to probably have to move a mobile home (someone new bought the property). I have heard very different answers. The home is a 14 by 70 & is a 1990. It will be moved less then-maybe 10 miles. Thank you.
It is Indiana & will be on country roads. Maybe (depending on which lot to move to) crossing-but not driving on 2 state highways.

Are the utilities already ready for a mobile home to be put on it?

Posted by Modular Homes on April 10th, 2010

I live in a house and have more land behind the house. This house has been here for 30 years. I want to put a mobile/ manufactured home behind my current home. Is there already electricity & water – useable or will I ahve to arrange to have these put on the land again? Also what about the septic tank?

Is it legal to sell a mobile home in the state of Tennessee without a title?

Posted by Modular Homes on November 17th, 2009

I recently purchased a mobile home in the state of Tennessee & upon paying it off, the seller advised me he did not have a title for the home, and presented me with a bill of sale. Is this legal? Also, is there a way to research this mobile home’s title?

What do we need to consider before buying a mobile home?

Posted by Modular Homes on October 26th, 2009

We are farmers and own a great deal of land but are not ready to build a house. (At this time we cannot afford to build something we will be happy living in for the rest of our lives, but we are tired of our rental in town and just want to be out on our land.) We are planning on purchasing a new (or just a couple years old) mobile home and living in it for about ten years. (Please do not lecture on what a bad investment a mobile home is – we are well aware of it.)

We are in Iowa and we know we are probably looking at problems with frozen pipes and rodents. Does anyone have any suggestions about dealing with these issues or any others we may not have thought of yet?

We were also wondering how energy efficient new (or newer) mobile homes are.
Also, storms & tornados will not be a problem – we have a shelter already.

What questions do I ask the agent while looking at a modular home?

Posted by Modular Homes on September 11th, 2009

I’m already prepared with the basic home questions (utilities/taxes/age & condition, etc), but what other questions should I ask specifically for a modular home?
Anything in particular that I should look for when touring it?
Thanks.

Price-wise, is it better to buy (and live) in a mobile home community or buy a condo? How much are condo’s?

Posted by Modular Homes on July 30th, 2009

Want to move from a big home after 40 years, to more manageable housing, either nice mobile home community or condo. Any suggestions here?. I’m totally confused & don’t want to jump into anything without some knowledge on this topic. Some friends tell me they love living in a nice mobile home community. But what are the miscell. expenses vs. a condo?

Where can I find ratings for mobile/manufactured homes?

Posted by Modular Homes on July 21st, 2009

My husband & I are looking to buy a new mobile/manufactured home (single-wide). I can’t find ANYTHING on the internet that rates the different brands/makers. The only thing I could find was for a book that you had to order. We have found a Fleetwood that we just love, but we wanted to check the ratings on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
