Manufactured Homes October 28th, 2009Need to find a company that doesn’t charge so much to replace a bathroom window that the glass is broken out of in a mobile home.

You might consider doing this work yourself. If it is a metal frame window, you can easily remove the window, and take it to your local hardware store, or glass repair shop, to have the glass replaced. Use silicone caulk when you go to re-install it.
A vinyl double pane window will cost more to fix. There’s no getting around that… again, you can remove the window yourself, and take it to a shop, saving yourself a bit with the repair cost.
With either type of window, I’d use a small piece of plywood to cover the hole while the window is out.
Another option is to replace the window entirely – this may or may not be cheaper than having the existing window repaired (yes, sometimes it is cheaper to replace one, than repair it). I’d contact the local glass shops, and even mobile home dealers in the area about getting a replacement. Some mobile home suppliers keep a few in stock also.
If you need someone to do the work, contact a local handyman, the service techs at a dealership, or even a manufacturer’s service tech/contractor (a dealer can give you their contact info).
Just fyi, it normally takes about an hour to replace a window, depending on the complexity of the siding it could take 2 hours, but I have trouble believing it could take any longer than that.
Good Luck

thewrang is right on. Or, if it’s just a pane of glass, any handyman can. $25-40
