Mobile home park is unsafe is the landlord responsible?
Manufactured Homes August 16th, 2010I am moving my kids and myself into my boyfriends mobile home…..There are torn down houses a torn down barn and other unsafe obstacles on the mobile home park property. What rights do I have as a tenant ( lot renter)? Should the landlord/ owner be fined for these unsafe conditions and how do I report them
I live in Pennsylvania

All of the above is true and correct.
Additionally….
Unless the land owner is making someone live in the old barn he is not breaking any laws. Lots of property, especiallly out in the country has old buildings on it. Since you have no rights to enter or use those lots in anyway you also have no rights to complain about them. They are simply none of your business.

First of all, you cannot just move yourself and your kids into the boyfriends mobile home without the landlords permission. Your boyfriend is the lot renter not you, and you could very well get him kicked out of the park. Even if your boyfriend owns his own trailer, there are still occupancy rules through the city and mobile home park rules you may be violating by just moving in. It can also cause his lot rent to go up. When I was renting in a mobile park, my lot rent went up $100 just because my boyfriend moved in with me.
So before you go complaining and moving in, you better find out what his lease states, if there will be additional costs (utilities, lot rent). You are NOT the tenant or lot renter unless your name is on the lease. You have no rights to anything. Especially if the landlord does not accept that you and your kids are moving in.
