All American Homes in Dyersville, IA builds modular homes that meet all codes (these are NOT HUD-code double-wides or trailers). They have ranches, 2-story, and Cape Cod styles plus some log homes. Many options are available and designs may be customized. The houses are sold through builder-dealers and are designed to be set on either a crawl- space or a foundation. The Dyersville plant delivers to all areas of the state. For more, here's their website:

Have you checked with your local building codes? As to what type of home you can put up? (some places require certain things) check your local zoneing commity, or city hall for this info as to the specs of the home…. if there are none ! then check your local phone book or just google manufactured homes in your area…. check them all out!!! BESURE TO GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING….. I MEAN EVERYTHING!!!! Because when they move those homes things shift…. also ask (if possible) to go and see your home before it comes to your lot!!! see it at the place it is being made, because once its on your lot …ITS YOURS,,, defects and all!!!! because when I had mine made 18 yrs ago it was hell trying to get things fixed after it was set up…. so if I were you and were handy with a hammer and had some friends too …. I would build from scratch!!!! better quality and made the way YOU want it!!! you can fire the contractor ,,, go onsite make sure its being made square!! all that good stuff… so I would shop around a bit B-4 getting a prefab…. because if I had to do it again ,,, Honest to god! I would have built it myself! Because to the prefab guys your just a number, and a contractor has his reputation at stake!!! cause if he messes up then BOOM …. no more customers for him!!! so just check out what the cost is per square foot is in both types of construction,,, stick built vs. prefab!!!! and remember prefab you don't get many choices…….

You are leaving out a lot of necessary information. I will try to give you some starting points. First, check your zoning. Some areas don't allow manufactured, some do. Mod's can go just about anywhere.
Use your yellow pages and look for manufactured or modular. Some dealerships offer both, some don't.
If you are looking for used, go to mhvillage.com, and put in your zip code. There are THOUSANDS there. If you find one you like, and it meets the zoning requirements, call a manufactured home service company that advertises set ups. They can tell you how much to tear down and re-set. Most don't haul the houses, but they can recommed reliable toters. You won't find mods there. They are permanently placed on foundations.
I hope this gives you, at least, a place to start.
If you still have some questions, feel free to email me. I will try to help further.
