Is there anything you can put down to keep skunks & other animals from digging under your mobile home?
Manufactured Homes March 11th, 2010Skunks and other animals are digging and getting under our mobile home and tearing everything up. We are animal lovers and don’t kill anything so we are wondering if any one knows of anything we can put down to keep them from wanting to dig underneath the mobile home? Any help would be appreciated.

It is called Bloodmeal..it is a powder that you just spread around in a line and animals will not cross it..great for gardens and I think it would work in your situation, too. You can find it at any Home and garden center.

I’ve heard that bars of irish spring soap, unwrapped & put under a porch will get rid of skunks. Don’t know if it works, but it’s worth a try.

Skunks are naturally nomadic and will eventually move on to another location. If you can’t wait for them to move on their own, mothballs or ammonia soaked rags will encourage them to move on. They also dislike light (place light under the mobil home) and noise (put a radio under the mobile home). Once they are gone, you need to remove access to the den (space under your mobile home).
Skunks can dig! Extend any flower bed borders, lattices or fencing at least 10" underground. Be sure there are no babies left behind and then seal up any crawl spaces.
The owl is the skunks only predator. Place a few decoys around your mobil home. It works!
Keep in mind that they do have a plus side. They are great at rodent and insect control and they eat black widow spiders and scorpions. They help to keep neighborhoods clean.
