is it normal to have a slightly uneven center seam in a modular home?
Modular Home Questions September 1st, 2010there is approximately 5′-6′ in my house where the floor seems to have settled slightly higher on one side of the seam then the other. I have carpet and it is extremely noticeable when walking over it. Can I just level it and put down laminate flooring or should I Investigate more thoroughly.

No, you should not have a noticeable difference in the seam from side to side. Call the company you bought the home from, or whomever installed it. I used to work for a modular home company and did installation and finishing, we had a one year warranty, but usually did repairs beyond the one year mark just because it was good business. But on the other hand if it has been quite some time since your home was installed it could be settling in the foundation or piers, which can be fixed but will probably not be covered under your warranty.
