Is it legal to put a modular home as a second home on a one acre property?
Modular Home Questions August 11th, 2010I live in bc, and me and my grandparents are looking at purchasing a one acre property that has a small house on it. Me and my boyfriend were hoping to put a modular on it, so that we could be close to my aging grandparents instead of putting them in a home one day in the near futur. How hard is it to get permits to put a modular home on the property? how costly? what kind of rules are there?

It entirely depends on where you are, so you’d have to ask someone locally.

you would have to check local zoning regulations – town/county/province

You need to check the zoning. You have to have it both zoned for mobile homes and for mutiple families.
