I live in a mobile home park and own my own home in California. What is the law about owning a dog?
Manufactured Homes August 22nd, 2010A new law was passed a few years ago. It states that if you own your own mobile home and live in a mobile home park, you can own a dog even though it was a no pet park before. I live in San Diego, Calif. I need to know the facts on this law.

If you live in a mobile home park where you rent the space your home occupies, you signed a lease on your space when you moved in. That lease may have restrictions to pet ownership. If it does, the restrictions take precedence over other laws as you agreed to them by leasing where you are. So if you live in a park that has a no pets clause in the lease, you signed away any other rights you may have had as a pet owner when you signed the lease.

Well I don’t know the laws, but I just adopted out a poodle to a nice lady that lives in a mobile home park. Nice place she owns. She had a dog before, no problems. I’d just talk to the main people that oversee the mobile park, and see what they say. I know another gal in sacramento, she’s in a mobile home park, and she has two dogs. I think its in your favor.
