I have scrubed the finish off my mobile home cupboards. How to refinish them?
Manufactured Homes August 30th, 2009My mobile home cupboards are made of presswood and have a paper finish on them. I have scrubed them enough to remove the "wood like" look from the edges. I would like to refinish them but have no idea what to do! Can they be painted?

of course they can be painted. Many manufacturers make a filler type paint to even the surface and remove the texture. This may take multiple coats and sanding. Be careful to use oil based paints as fillers and primers as the water based will have a tendency to swell the "wood". Once the surface is sealed and smooth, any paint will be O K

Anything can be painted!

As long as there is no grease on them, just prime with a high adhesion primer and paint. Don’t bother with sanding the paper.
