How to repair a mobile home roof?
Manufactured Homes September 9th, 2009What products are best for repairing leaks around the edge of a mobile home, and to coat the top as well? Apparently there is a small leak that travels down the wall. This was only noticed because of the water stain at the base of the wall after removing the carpet. There is also a small leak in the middle of the bedroom ceiling which is also in need of a product that will do the job.

The best thing to repair mobile home roofs is the Snow Roof Systems. Following the link below to get more info on this product.

Contact a moble home repair center or place which sells new one for advice on the products they use.
I used a product called cool seal. I think someone at Lowes or home depot can help you with the correct product.

Non fibered roof coating. wear old clothes and roll it on, especially do the seams and around any vent pipes. Don’t assume the leak is right above where the water damage is, the water will travel along beams an wiring or whatever.

The cool seal or there is a product called Polar seal, it is a two step process, check yellow pages, we used it on a camper once with excellent results.

There are roof sealers that you can paint, spread or mop on, as mentioned above. If it were mine, I would patch the leak, then build a roof over the mobile home.
This could be done by setting posts along the sides of the trailer, connected by beams. Attach rafters or trusses to the beams. Cover with sheeting, apply roofing paper, and shingles.
The structure would not be attached to the mobile home, would provide protection, and would keep the home cooler in the summer.

See the link below. I sell manufactured homes now but previously worked on them and this company was a primary supplier for me.
