How do I get a lien removed from a mobile home?
Manufactured Homes October 28th, 20091. The mobile home is paid in full. I have a note signed from the previous owner saying this.
2. The lien was placed a long time ago because I was purchasing the mobile home in monthly payments from the previous owner.
3. In an apparent oversight the previous owner never removed the lien after full payment and now I can’t locate the previous owner.
4. The mobile home sits on a rented space in a mobile home park.
What can I do to get the lien off if I can’t find him?

Ask Dept of Motor Vehicles (or wherever liens on mobile homes in your state are filed) for directions you can rely on.

You have a real problem. The note from the previous owner is meaningless, as they are not the lienholder.
The only way to get a release is to obtain it from the previous owner. If you have all of your payment copies and you can prove that you satisfied the note, you should probably seek the advice of an attorney.

Get your sales contract and cancelled checks that show it was paid ,
Go down to the country clerk with the contract & checks and show them .
They should be able to direct you from there .
If you paid cash , sorry , you out of luck .
Also , the lien should have the address of the person who placed the lien ,
If it was the former owner , the county clerk has the address .
