NO, don’t do it. When my husband and I first started out, we bought a modular. It was horrible. It was like living in a box. For what you have to have as a down payment, you can do that with a real house. 5 years of living there and it took almost 2 years to sell it. Find a Realtor, look into a house that you can grow into as you have children. You will be better off and much happier. Good luck and God Bless

HI – we have set and finished prefab homes for 10 years and I have not had one person happy with the home after the sale. Be careful the costs of home may look good but the hidden fees will kill you. Every home we did went over the costs the homeowner was given. Also the homes are built at times outside of the state you live in, so they don’t have to follow your state codes. Most times plumbing, electrical, and foundation, and heating are all seperate costs. Make sure you understand everything you getting. I would have a licensed Contractor give you a contract price on the same size home and give you a set of specifications and compare. Nothing beats a custom built home.

it’s horrible we live in one and i wouldn’t wish it on my worse enemy! paid wayyyyyy to much and they really don’t keep the value of a "real" home. save your money and invest in a good brick home.
