Do you actually have to be a senior citizen to live in a senior mobile home park?
Manufactured Homes June 2nd, 2010My mother wants to get a mobile in a senior mobile home park or a 55+ park, but she’s only 49 years old. Could she do it, or does it just depend on the park?
She’s widowed and would be living alone.

Most 55+ parks allow 10% of the residents to not be 55 or older, but it depends on the park. Call the manager of the park she is interested in and ask.

i’d say it probably depends on the park. check with them individually.

It really depends on the park. Usually if a person is older and responsible and the park has open lots they will sometimes be open to the prospect.

If it’s age restricted, then the park doesn’t have a choice but to go by age.
The law says they must be consistent or else it’s discrimination.
In other words, if the park makes admission decisions by age, then if they let a 49 year old widow live there, then they have to let a 49 year old woman with 4 kids live there too.
