Can you have a basement under a mobile home?
Manufactured Homes August 31st, 2010Thinking of purchasing a building lot and a mobile home to go on it. Can we put a basement as the foundation instead of just a slab? How different is the plumbing and such? (I imagine not too different?) Thanks.
Why would it be dangerous? Thanks again.

It is possible; it adds value to your property. Generally, there should be an outside entrance to the basement, and you would use steel anchors to attach the mobile home to the basement.

Yes as long as you own the property you can get a basement built under it can be very dangerous so I wouldn’t mobile homes are much bigger and modern my partners have one and its have four bedrooms there bedroom has a huge bathroom with a tub and separate shower it can with most of the furnishing and stainless steel Appliances. I dont know how the plumbing in their house works, but when I’m there there is no problems with it at all they have lived there for going on three years

Yes, and it’s identical. Just order the home FOR a basement. You can’t just pick out a model without all sorts of adjustments.
Not a wise idea. Go mod. You will not have a city problems, guaranteed financing, and your appraisal will be MUCH higher

if the foundation is sized right and they leave some beam pockets until its set, you should be ok…i have seen mobile homes, double wides and modulars , all with basements…
