Can you build an additional removable (if needed) room on to a mobile home in a mobile home park?
Manufactured Homes June 28th, 2009We live in a mobile home (trailer house) that was built in 1968. The dimentions are 12X60 with two doors on one side. It already has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Is it possible to add on a room to what is now the back door and since it is indeed a mobile home in a mobile home park(on a rented lot) it cannot be permanent. Is there any way to make it removable if needed, but still viable as a bedroom. How would you go about doing this if it is possible at all? Can you kind of make a lean to maybe? Does anyone have any advice? Thanks a lot.

From what you say dosent sound like it would be legal.. every county from state to state has different zoning and code regulations.. you would have to check yours specifically.. but i doubt it would be legal…

first thig that you do is go to the " park office "" and ask if that is permitted before you spend any $$$$$ ….. get a carpenter to give you an estimate and you can have more than one bid on your project to see what's best for your use and the cost… the base would be like a wooden outdoor deck and if you build small it could be moved — that has to be part of the plans for your addition…

I live in a park.Depending on park rule's for such a thing.Just tell them it's going to be a inclosed deck.Yes make a deck room,if well insulated it would work.I built a 8x 20 deck on mine,i could inclose no problem,if need'ed.Just ask at the park if they allow inclosed deck's.Just don't attach to home,or you will get into building code's then.Just by a well built wood shed and make a room out of it,say for washer and dryer or bed room for oldest child.Jokeing.Good luck.
