Can I level land after movin a mobile home onto the property?
Manufactured Homes November 10th, 2009I just purchased a piece of land that I am going to move a mobile home onto. The lot needs leveling because it slops a little the farther it is away from the road. I was told that it would be best to level it before moving the mobile home onto it but I don’t think I’ll be able to afford it. Is there anything wrong with leveling the property after moving the mobile home?

you can grade your property i bought a few pieces of equipement after i retired . i have done probably 8 or 10 properties after the mobil home was set up. its no different than grading around a house. hope this helps good luck.

You can do it afterward, however, if the area right under the trailer ends up lower than whatever grade you put on the property it will hold water and your trailer will slowly sink and end up way off level. Then you’ll have to move it, level it, and move it back. All told, that will be a lot more expensive than just doing it now.
