Buying a mobile home from a mobile home park?
Manufactured Homes June 14th, 2010I am looking to buy a mobile home http://www.mhvillage.com/Listings/Listing.php?key=312500 If I buy this mobile home can I put it on my own land or do I have to leave it in the mobile home park. I have looked at several other similar ones and none of them say. Just curious if anyone knows.

I would imagine it would depend on the property zoning.

I would make sure that it is just being sold, and not sold on a basis that you keep it in the park. You may also want to consider that this mobile home is from the 1970’s, so the stability of moving it will be degraded. I do not know the rules and regulations in your state, but in Missouri there are certain areas that only allow you to move a mobile home that is 10 years old or newer. Also, moving a mobile home can cost from $2000-7000, depending on how far and how hard the move is. Good luck

Are you looking to purchase the home that the park owns? Or is someone selling it and it’s just already there?
In my experience, once you purchase the home you can move it if you want/need to….because it is yours! But you might want to check with the park or realtor. There’s a button on that page that you can click and ask a question. They will have specifics. Good luck! What a bargain.
