People would rather buy stick built. If you plan on staying there a while and are going to take very good care of it. You will have equity in it. And that is always a good thing.
Check into the modular homes that are built in cubes, when they are together they look like a stick built house, more expensive than manufactured, mobile home types, you will have problems with a mobile, roof problems uneven floors, etc, we had a mocular at one time, and had a fire from an improperly installed air vent in the bathroom….it will decrease in value unless you set it over a full basement and do cosmetic work to the outside such as decks and porches etc….but wouldn’t advise buying one. Some prefabs may be ok, best thing to do is request names and addresses from the dealer that is selling them and check with the people that own them.
