Manufactured, mobile homes and trailers are the same. The are built to federal standards. If the local area allow those types of homes you could move them there. Different geographical areas will have different weather and the home may be better suited for one area than the next. If you go this route buy one built for the coldest climate. If you buy one in the southwest it may be much more expensive, if even possible. They are on a metal frame and can be towed away.
The terms describe what type of construction they are. It is very important, esp when it comes to banks, insurance companies and how things will appraise.
Modular homes are different they are built to local standards. Those standards can and will change from place to place. They are stick built, they are not built on a trailer frame like the manufactured homes are. They will need to be place on a trailer just like a traditional site built home would have to be, if you want to move it. They are delivered on a trailer and than removed buy a crane as opposed to a site built home. Moving a modular probably would be easier than a site built but more difficult than a manufactured (trailer or mobile) home.
If you are thinking of doing this it is important you understand the difference between Modular and Manufactured, many don’t.

WHAT YOU WANT IS A MODULE HOME, In must estamation , JACOBS, HOMES OF FLORIDA, EXCELLANT, AN OTHER ONE IS ….PEARL HARBOR, ONCE AGAIN BUILT IN FLORIDA. The reason i choose homes, that are built in florida is, they have the most strictes building codes, hurrricane, etc. in the industry.
