Because these have an axle (which wheels can be mounted on and the home driven away, sometimes in the middle of the night), is typically not permanently mounted on a foundation, and is often placed on leased land (mobilehome park), banks consider these a much higher risk than the other units. It is much tougher to get a traditional mortgage as a result.
